StackGauge is a private macOS menu bar application designed for comprehensive tracking of usage, limits, resets, and expenditure across various coding providers. This tool offers a unified dashboard to monitor your activity without needing to constantly access individual provider interfaces. The initial release delivers robust support for Claude Code, providing immediate visibility into your 5-hour and weekly capacity. It clearly indicates which limit is currently affecting your work, precisely when that limit will reset, and the real-time cost associated with your usage. A simple pace projection helps you understand if you are on track to exceed your allowance before the next reset. For accounts billed by usage, StackGauge provides estimated spend reconstructed from token usage and current model prices, requiring no additional setup. For exact billing, users can optionally connect an Anthropic Admin API key, with data securely stored in the macOS Keychain. Future updates will expand support to include additional coding providers, making StackGauge a central hub for all your coding usage oversight. This application is ideal for developers and engineers who rely on coding providers and need a discrete, at-a-glance overview of their resource consumption and costs directly from their Mac menu bar.
